据外媒报道，语音邮箱多年来一直保持着普通功能，在用户无法接听电话时接收音频记录消息。而Windows Phone智能语音邮箱（Voicemail）的状态更新和实用性将使之成为新一代语音邮箱的变革者。
它本质上是Windows Phone系统应答器，可快速告知主叫者为什么被叫者错过他们的电话。智能语音邮箱增加了个性化功能，用户可以定时和快速同步谷歌或Outlook日历状态消息。这个应用有对话视图和一键通功能，拥有漂亮、时尚、直观的用户体验。
智能语音信箱服务目前只用于美国居民。然而，这个应用程序在服务打开之前可以利用文本和语音信息。目前一些注册用户确认收不到文本信息，智能语音信箱的工作人员意识到这个问题，正致力于解决它。
这个应用可从Windows Phone商店免费获取用于Window Phone 8设备。有趣的是，这款应用最早用于Windows Phone设备，但现在已经慢慢地其他平台普及。

While telephony has changed through the years – from landlines to mobiles to VoIP – voicemail has remained pretty much the same with plain vanilla functionality of receiving recorded audio messages when you can’t answer the phone.
Smart Voicemail aims to alter this perception, and attempts to be the next evolution of voicemail with status updates & availability to quickly let callers know why you missed their call.
Essentially an out-of-office or vacation responder for Windows Phone, Smart Voicemail adds a personality to the voicemail. You can set timed and quick status messages syncing seamlessly with your Google or Outlook calendar. The app features a nice, modern, and intuitive user experience with a conversation view and push-to-talk features.
Smart Voicemail's Voicemail Box service is currently not available for non-US residents. However, the app can be utilized for text and voice messaging until the service opens up. I’m also informed that for some users the confirmation text to register does not arrive. The Smart Voicemail folks are aware of the issue, and are working on it.
The app is available for free for Windows Phone 8 devices from the Windows Phone Store. Interestingly, the app was first on Windows Phone, but has now trickled to other platforms as well. Try it out, and let us know if you think if this could replace your traditional voicemail service.
